Have you heard about the many benefits of meditation but were reluctant, felt intimidated or confused by the various approaches and types of meditation? Maybe you’ve tried it, but have struggled in quieting your mind or even in just allowing yourself to relax.
This workshop will help you build confidence and a strong foundation for creating a meditation practice of your own. Students will learn about the benefits of meditation and how to manage a mind full of chatter. We’ll explore different postures for meditation, and how to work with physical discomfort as well as challenging emotions that may arise. Breath and body awareness techniques will be explored, along with mantra and mudra use. You also will experience several different types of meditation, including a guided group meditation, allowing you to discover just what works best for you!
While this workshop is geared toward beginning meditators, all are welcome to participate. Please dress comfortably and bring water along with a blanket, pillow, yoga mat and/or meditation cushion.
