Sometimes, no matter how hard we try to make changes, break an old habit, or begin something new, we find ourselves stuck and getting in our own way, even though we really do know what we need to do to change. We procrastinate, self-sabotage, engage in addictive behaviors, allow fear, anxiety, or experiences from our past to control our present.

Often times we don’t even know why we are making the choices we make, or what it is that’s preventing us from moving forward towards what it is we really desire. Many of our habits, decisions and reactions to our life’s circumstances are ingrained deep in the subconscious mind. It’s as if we’re living our lives on autopilot, reacting instead of responding, repeating the same patterns and choices over and over again even though consciously we’re trying to choose something different.

This is because our subconscious mind is making decisions for us based on our past experiences and what’s familiar, keeping us in our comfort zone rather than allowing us to stretch ourselves beyond our limits and to expand to new horizons.

Hypnosis allows a hypnotherapist to access your subconscious mind so that you may release what’s holding you back, let go of negativity, and create new, healthier patterns of being. It brings your whole self into alignment with your goals and desires so that they are easier to achieve.

During a hypnosis session, Renee creates a safe, peaceful environment and, using a suitable induction technique, quiets and relaxes your conscious mind while accessing your subconscious mind. In so doing, suggestions that fit within your personal belief system can be accepted as your new normal, which creates powerful, lasting change towards achieving your goals.

Many people describe hypnosis sessions as deeply relaxing, similar to the early stages of falling asleep or to experiencing a deep meditative state. Even so, while you are in a hypnotic trance, you are still aware and in control. You cannot be made to do something against your will, out of character, or against your values. Neither would you unknowingly reveal your secrets or personal information. Hypnosis is a natural state of being and a gentle, yet effective tool.

Most people can be hypnotized. You must only be willing to be hypnotized, able to focus and follow your hypnotherapist’s directions, and capable of using your imagination.

Hypnosis sessions are conducted in person. They typically last 60-90 minutes and include an interview process to review and discuss your goal. The number of sessions required depends on the individual and his or her goal. Sometimes the goal can be effectively mastered in one session, while other types of goals may require more sessions.

This is not considered a long-term process. Renee will customize the program to meet your individual needs by accurately reflecting your thoughts around the perceived problem, your decision making process, your personal values, and your unique situation. This personalization creates a more fun, powerful, and ultimately more effective experience for you.

While it is recommended that you focus on one goal at a time during hypnosis, many people choose to continue the process to work on other goals. Others use it as a part of an on-going self-care and wellness program.
